The theme of the 2008 Missouri State Fair is "Go 4 It". The Show-Me State shows off the best of the best of Missouri. including the people and agriculture, from August 7 - 17, 2008. The state fair, held in Sedalia, MO, invites one and all to join them for a front row seat for everything from livestock shows to big name concerts. The state fair is a great place to enjoy food, music, contests, music and so much more!
The Fair's play bill features a magnificent mile of midway fun and Pepsi Grandstand concerts which are performed by the best musical performers in the business. The fair features agricultural competitions, educational displays, music, free entertainment and family friendly fun.
The Dodge Arena will keep the heritage of the fair alive. The Missouri Rodeo Cowboy Association will qualify 15 of the top competitors from each of nine categories. The nine events include Calf Roping, Steer Wresting and Barrel Racing, which will be held in Dodge Arena.
Dodge Arena Antique and Classic Tractor Pull, which is in it's 26th year. . Tractor Pull classes include Antique, Styled Antique, Classic and Division V. The Tractor Pull includes tractor models from 1939 to 1953. Tickets for Dodge Arena events can be purchased from Ticket master.
The Missouri State Fair Idol Contest is held at the Budweiser Tent this year. The winner will be named the next Missouri State Fair Idol. Preliminaries at at 4:00 pm August 7-16 at the Bud Tent. The Finals are on August 17 at 2 pm at the Bud Tent.

"Billboard" magazine reports that six of the 2007 Missouri State Fair Grandstand artists enjoy top ratings. Artists with top ratings that can be seen at the fair include Big and Rich, Jason Aldean, Gary Allan and Corbin Blue. Following is the lineup for the Pepsi Grandstand Entertainments. The Budweiser Stage offers free music and entertainment with The Nace Brothers, Jason Brown, The Road Hammers, The Jessica Horn Band, LoCash Cowboy, Candy Coburn.
Admission is $8 Adult, Children under 12 free. Free parking with adult admission.
Opening Day is Dollar Day. Admission is just $1 on August 7.
August 14 is $2 day. Admission is just $2.
New this year is a special rate for after 5 pm. Admission is just $5 after 5 pm.
